China Focus is a collection of educational resources designed to enhance the conversation and listening comprehension level of Chinese students through some carefully selected videos. The videos have been taken from different TV programmes and include among others the news, documentaries, talk shows, films, theatre plays etc.

This volume is on cartoons, which is why some parts of the childrens’ series 蜗牛快递 have been chosen for it. It is about a snail working as a mail carrier, an interview with the strip cartoonist  Zhude Yong and the song «爱就一个字» by Jean Michael Ou that was part of the film 宝莲灯 (translated into English as “Lotus Lantern” ). These resources are suitable for students of HSK level 5.

The idea of the book is that after watching the videos, some exercises must be resolved. The answers to these exercises are at the end of the book, which makes it suitable for self-study.

The videos can be watched via the link on the publisher’s page or by scanning the QR codes that come up at the beginning of each unit.
