Rainbow Bridge Graded Chinese Reader is Sinolingua's new collection of graded readings.
The Magical Lotus Lantern (Level 2- 300 Words) is based in traditional Chinese folklore and tells the story of Chenxiang, his mother Sanshengmu who was a goddess and his father Liu Yanchang was a human. Erlang Shen, his mother's brother who was a god, punishes them killing Liu Yanchang. Sanshengmu escapes and gives birth but Chenxiang grows up not knowing his origins.
The stories are adaptations of literary and Chinese history: Mythology, legends, folklore, biographies, historic tales etc.
The new feature of this collection is that now, English translations have been added.
The serie has multiple levels:
