The teacher Tao-chung “Ted” Yao 姚道中 was well-known in the academic world for his contributions to the learning of Chinese.  Explorations in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language has been designed by his colleagues and friends in his honour and includes a series of articles on teaching Chinese as a second language.
