Method to learn Chinese targeted to students between 6 and 12 years old who are preparing the YCT test and begin to learn Chinese from the very beginning.
YCT Standard Course uses pictures, activities, exercises, songs and stories to approach learning in a multidisciplinary way.
YCT Standard Course 6
This book correspond at the first part of level 4 of YCT.
This first part covers 190 words and half of the grammatical structures and communicative functions of this level.
The book contains 15 lessons and the estimated time of class in each lesson is from 3 to 4 hours. Last unit is focused in reviewing,
Each lesson contains page that is a mock of the YCT exam, which helps students to be familiar with the exam and pass the YCT test when they have finished the book.
The book is divided in the following way: Key sentences. vocabulary, reading (texts), activities and exercises, songs and a page that is a mock of the exam.
Each lesson has around 14 new words, with no more of 3 words not included in the study plan of the YCT (all of them marked with a star * in order to easily recognize them)
Vocabulary appears written in Chinese characters, pinyin and English translation. There are also examples of other words.
Each lesson contains two texts that include new sentences from previous YCT exams.
Activities and exercises
The book has traditional fill the gaps exercises, but it also suggests games and other activities of movement and performing.
Each lessons contains a song about the main topic.
The book also includes a small story with which you can do role-play games.

Authorized by Hanban, the YCT Standard Course has been developed under the joint efforts of Higher Education Press and Chinese Testing International (CTI). The target readers are primary and middle school students from overseas who take Chinese as an elective course, and who are going to take the YCT.
