Youth Chinese Test (YCT) is an international standardized test of Chinese proficiency, which evaluates the ability of non-native Chinese middle school and primary school students to use the Chinese language in their daily lives and study. 為鼓勵漢語非第一語言的中小學生學習漢語，培養、提高他們的漢語能力，自2004年以來，中國國家漢辦組織中外漢語教學、語言學、心理學和教育測量學等領域的專家，在充分調查、了解海外中小學實際漢語教學情況的基礎上，開發了新中小學生漢語考試(YCT)。 每年參加YCT考試的考生達5萬多人次，但尚沒有一套完全符合YCT大綱和考試的教材，《YCT標準教程》將填補這一空白。一、編寫理念：考教結合。教：緊扣大綱、貼近生活、寓教於樂，考：模擬真題、隨學隨練。二、適用對象：海外漢語非第一語言的中小學生。此教程為通用型教材，稍微偏重歐美地區。三、教程構成：第一冊對應YCT(一級)，第二冊對應YCT(二級)，第三、四冊對應YCT(三級)，第五、六冊對應YCT(四級)。四、每冊和每課內容：(1)每冊教材共12課，每課後面安排一個模擬測試，題型與真題完全相同。(2)每課內容：關鍵句、生詞、課文、活動和練習、測試頁等。
